After an eight-year stretch at Baltimore’s Emerging Technology Center (ETC), we’ve moved! Response Labs’ expanding business through the pandemic months gave us the opportunity to grow our team remotely. We have people nestled across the country, but over half of our new “RLers” joined in the Baltimore-D.C. area. With our local additions mounting, the cozy 600-square-foot office at the ETC became a little too cozy. We needed a bigger space—not just room to breathe, but room to keep growing. We also wanted a place we could make our own, one that fit the character and culture of our company.
A New Place with the Right Face
Working with our property-finding friends at CBRE and Obrecht Commercial Real Estate, we identified The Natty Boh Tower as the perfect headquarters for our budding squad. The building’s history was an immediate connection to our own Charm City roots. It’s an honor working in the birthplace of Baltimore’s most beloved brand, National Bohemian Beer. Added perk, we’ve become pretty tight with the man upstairs… Mr. Boh, that is. His iconic one-eyed, mustachioed face sits atop the building. With exclusive rooftop access, we can bask in Mr. Boh’s neon glow as we take in a near 360° view of the city.
Fun fact: This move is somewhat of a homecoming for the Response Labs’ CEO and co-founder, Dan Dawes. Congruent Media, another digital agency he founded in 2003, occupied the 2nd floor of the originally renovated Natty Boh Tower.
Space to Breathe, Grow and Get Nerdy
Inside, Suite 500 is cavernous with 4,770 square feet and two-story ceilings flooded by natural light from the towering eastside windows. We truly have room to breathe and grow here. The open floor plan has given us an opportunity to personalize the space as well.
We outfitted the space in modern, industrial style and added some unique accouterments. Adjustable standing desks are standard for our Baltimore RLers and visiting team members, clients, friends or whoever drops in. Our two conference rooms, lovingly named Big Boh and Lil’ Boh, accommodate more insular gatherings. Other seating areas flank the space giving folks a medley of options for working, meeting, eating and lounging.

Innovation and creativity have been hallmarks of Response Labs’ success. So it’s important that our working environment is inspiring, distinctive and fun. To maximize our view of Baltimore, we’ve installed a massive cityscape photo on our southwest walls creating a seamless, panning skyline. One of our halls is dedicated to “Who’s who at RL?” showcasing photos of our team members in their early years and where they live now. A stocked kitchen keeps us nourished and a Sonos surround sound system keeps us vibing. Naturally, we keep cold Natty Boh on tap for refreshment after hours (and sometimes during hours). To fuel our competitive spirits, we acquired a tournament-ready shuffleboard table. And beware of our arsenal of Nerf guns. Soft-foam bullet battles erupt without notice.
We’re Always Ready to Roll
Response Labs is chock-full of adventurers and explorers, and we’re quite literally a company on the move. RLers are known to strap on our RL-issued helmets and roll out on our RL-issued Segway scooters to cruise the Brewer Hill streets, restaurants and shops. Neighbors know to steer clear of the not-yet-infamous Nerds of Anarchy electric scooter gang. 🤓 🛴
